Excellent (seemingly new) condition with holster, cleaning rod and extra mag. This one appears to have all of it's original finish with a small amount of holster wear near the muzzle and some of the leading slide edges (as pictured). The spare mag is still in plastic wrap. All visible numbers match except the magazines.
The CZ52 pistol, also known as the vz. 52, is a semi-automatic pistol developed in Czechoslovakia in the early 1950s. The CZ52 is appreciated by firearm enthusiasts for its distinctive engineering and historical value.
Here are some key features and details about the CZ52:
- Design and Development: The CZ52 was designed by two Czech engineers, Jan and Jaroslav Kratochvíl, and was produced by the Česká zbrojovka (CZ) factory in Strakonice. It was adopted by the Czechoslovak military in 1952.
- Caliber: The pistol is chambered for the 7.62×25mm Tokarev cartridge, which is known for its high velocity and penetration capabilities.
- Operation: The CZ52 uses a roller-locked short recoil system, which is relatively uncommon in pistols. This system contributes to the pistol's durability and reliability.
- Construction: The frame and slide are made of steel, giving the pistol a robust and sturdy feel. The grips are typically made of bakelite, a type of early plastic.
- Magazine Capacity: The standard magazine holds 8 rounds.
- Sights: The pistol is equipped with fixed iron sights, which are typical for military pistols of its era.
- Safety Features: The CZ52 has a manual safety lever located on the left side of the frame, as well as a decocking lever that safely lowers the hammer without firing a round. CAUTION: Always keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction in case of unintentional discharge.
- Historical Use: The CZ52 was used by the Czechoslovak military and police forces until it was replaced by more modern designs. It has since become a popular collector's item and is known for its unique design and historical significance.
